Incredible India: Mattancherry Palace & Paradesi Synagogue, Kerala
Mattancherry Palace & Paradesi Synagogue is located in Kochi, Kerala, South India. The palace was built in 1555 by the Portuguese and renovated by the Dutch, a century later. It is a unique combination of traditional Kerala & European architectures and is famous for its wooden carvings & 16th Century paintings. Nearby, there is an old (and functioning) Jewish Synagogue constructed in 1568 and an 18th Century Clock Tower, that are located in the Jew town which saw many Jews settle here, during the medieval times.
