Mughal Gardens, Jammu & Kashmir, North India. Many Mughal emperors created elaborate gardens, especially in Kashmir, following the basic conceptual model of Persian gardens. These gardens contained a central high-altitude water pool, running water, fountains, pools, trees, flowers, grass, etc. The two prominent Mughal gardens of Kashmir – Shalimar Bagh & Nishat Bagh were constructed in the first half of Seventeenth Century.
