Heritage on Wheels: Women’s Christian College, Chennai
Today I went to Heritage on Wheels – a heritage car and bike rally event hosted by the History Dept. of Women’s Christian College, Chennai. I guess this is a part of their Centenary year celebrations. There was an entry ticket of Rs. 200 (for public), but their FB event page says proceeds go towards women and children affected by cancer, and for the scholarship of underprivileged students studying in their college.
The event was organized well and gave me of feel of college culturals with music, quiz & other events, stalls, etc. For Rs. 100 more they allowed people to ride on a few of these heritage cars, but that section was crowded – so I didn’t venture! Without further ado, I hereby present some of my favorite clicks from today’s heritage bike/car event π

Thanks for covering this event and writing about it. Events at WCC (or SIET)! No wonder there are large young crowds.
Although there was good crowd, since I was early, I was able to click most of the cars present there.

What wonderful collection they had. I am also impressed with the financial support they give to their children.
Yes, that’s a good gesture.

Lovely pictures of cars and bikes! 4646 car is lovely!
Yeah, the chocolate brown color adds to its look. There were many more beautiful cars, but I want to restrict myself to a certain no. of photos per page, so can’t put them all!

Cool photos on the vintage vehicles and I liked more the bikes here. One of our grandparentβs neighbors had a similar bike with double silencer and being an old one he used to kick number of times to start the bike. I liked the mechanism where the kicking lever used for both kick-starting and putting gear.
Vintage bikes too have a great charm – I discovered that during this event π

Nice DI! It’s great to know that this was a charity event. We need more such events.
