Sanskruthi Dolls Exhibition @ TTK Road, Chennai
Today we went to the Sanskruthi Dolls exhibition at Maharashtra Nivas, TTK Road (Near Hp Petrol bunk), Alwarpet, Chennai. In this exhibition, the organisers are attempting a Guinness World Record for displaying the maximum number of handmade dolls under a single roof.
Irrespective of whether they achieve that goal or not, it’s a sheer pleasure to watch so many dolls together. We were glad we went.
I’ve made a short highlights video (embedded above) where you can see a few dolls and you can also get to know more about the event/association founded to revive the tradition of handmade dolls by Nisha Srikanth, the founder.
This exhibition is on for two days – Sept. 8 & 9, 2018 (Sat & Sun).

I am sure this exhibition would be more interesting if someone visits in person. The video is unimpressive.
Ya, there are a few issues with the video – I couldn’t use my external mic because my new production camera is yet to arrive and my current camera doesn’t have a mic slot. I wanted to show more pics (I have) but due to time constrains esp. while uploading to social media like whatsapp, I had to stick to the best pics, which turned out to be a few closeup shots. Thanks for your feedback, I am continuously learning to make better videos. It will improve with time.

panoramic or wide angle shots would have worked better. You should have shown somehow that the collection was huge. It doesn’t appear that way with just some closeup shots.
Yes. I thought the final video at the end would convey that, but it does not.

Beautifully handmade dolls and impressive work! Hope you get clear audio in future events
Audio is crucial. I have been trying to work around the audio capture thing, but nothing seems to work. Buying a camera with a proper external mic input port would be the best solution.

Record or no record, dolls are good stress busters!
