Update 2: According to this news article by Indian Express,

Chennai Book Fair is now scheduled to be held from Feb. 16 (Wed) 2022 to Mar. 6 (Sun) 2022 for 19 Days, from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M., with restrictions and precautions due to COVID. For further details, refer to the above-linked article.

Update 1: According to the lockdown guidelines of the G.O. (Ms) No. 03 dated 3.1.22, Section 3. iv. reads,

“All Exhibitions and Book Fairs to be conducted shall be postponed.”

But the dates over which the above might be applicable is not clear or may be revised. At the time of updating this blog post, there is no official confirmation on the above from BAPASI (organizer) yet. Please check their Facebook page link (click) to see their latest announcement on the same.

Here are the details regarding the upcoming 45th Chennai Book Fair 2022 event to be held next month (Jan. ’22).

Dates: January 06 to January 23, 2022

Location: YMCA Grounds, Nandanam (Click for Google Maps)

Timing: Weekdays – 3 P.M. to 8.30 P.M., Weekends – 11 A.M. to 8.30 P.M.

(On the first day, the book fair may be opening slightly late, maybe by the evening)

COVID Protocols: Masks and Sanitizers to be available at the venue.

Expected Footfall: 12 Lakhs
