A Superhero Story I Animated for Name Revealing

Although I did this superhero animation video as an animated template for name reveal ceremony, I fulfilled my long-term dream of creating and animating a short story end-to-end using 2d animation.

I still remember the time when, more than a decade ago, I saw an animation of a Chicken Superhero and wanted to create something like that myself. I even downloaded blender and tried something for a couple of hours. Since I was a full-time writer, and had no touch with the animation industry back then, I failed.

But now, since I have been creating animations (well, more of motion graphics) for a few years, I thought, “Why not reattempt that dream of mine?”

You can see the result in the above-embedded video. I know that’s not the best animation out there, but this is the first time I tried to animate an actual short story/action-style video fully by myself. I am happy with the result 🙂

It does take time for dreams to come true. In my case, it took a very long time. However, the joy of having done something that felt almost impossible is unparalleled.

It is great 2d animation. Must have given a lot of satisfaction.
I felt cheated when I tried Blender, when I tried Pencil2d.
You used Blender for above ?

Although it is possible to do 2d animation with Blender, it’s far more difficult to learn. I used a relatively easy tool for character animations called Cartoon Animator 5 by Reallusion.
