Incredible India: Humayun’s Tomb, Delhi

Humayun’s Tomb, Delhi, North India is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was built along the Yamuna river in 1572, in memory of the Mughal Emperor Humayun, by his wife Bega Begum. This 47m tall, 91m wide structure was among the first one to be built using red sandstone (on this scale). This site was designed as a garden cum tomb, and the tombs of many popular personalities of the Mughal empire, including Humayun’s favorite barber, are also situated here.
