Incredible India: Rani Ki Vav, Gujarat

Rani Ki Vav, Patan, Gujarat, West India. Can you believe, the above structure is actually a step-well to fetch water? Built in 1063 CE by Queen Udayamati in memory of the King Bhimdev I, this step-well measures 64m(l)x20m(w)x27m(d). Flooded by Saraswati river and silted over until the late 1980s, this site still retains more than 800 intricately carved elaborate sculptures, among seven galleries.
