Disclaimer: I am not a fan of luxury cars and I will never buy one even if I had all the money on earth. I think that they are the symbols of excessive indulgence (gas guzzlers) and hence they do not contribute to my vision of sustainable living. Every drop of Petrol/Diesel wasted by these cars can be used to power more efficient means of transportation. But I do hope these cars will run using solar energy, wind energy and hydro-power in the future.

That said, I should also say that I admire beautifully made things. Luxury cars are the best example of a beautiful synthesis between art and technology. It’s just that I hate beautiful things that contribute to pollution and global-warming. Why can’t beautiful things be clean and efficient? Is beauty an excuse for indulgence at the cost of everything else in this world?

While humanity ponders upon such larger questions, let us restrict ourselves to just enjoying beauty for a few moments πŸ™‚ Here goes –

Which one is your favorite? Me, I would rather buy this car than any of the above models even if I am given two crores to spend on a car (is that enough to buy the costliest car among the above?). Never judge a book by its cover, never judge a ???? by ??? ????? and never judge a car by its design πŸ™‚

Why ??? mark on the 6th car. It looks like a Mercedes-AMG. Again, I could be wrong. I don’t know which one is costlier among these cars. Two crore rupees not anywhere near if you want to buy the most expensive car in the world. The most expensive car in the world is Bugatti Veyron Super Sports. Cost is only $2.4 Million.

    1. Rajesh K

Thanks, I think it is Mercedes-AMG. I’ll change the question marks soon. 2.4 million USD for a car? OMG! One thing is sure – I will never buy it πŸ™‚

Stunning models of car! I’m also not a luxury car lover, but I like watching or knowing about their data. Yes, they consume more gasoline and give least mileage at cost of many traveling in a bus.

My favorites are simple and basic comforts of traveling and I wish more for 4×4.

With METRO being constructed in many cities, people should ideally look at using such mass rapid transit systems. It makes a lot of sense in cases where the traveling distance between home and work is longer.

I like simple cars like Nano. I wonder why they are not releasing an electric version of it. They are going to release diesel and CNG versions it seems.

These cars are such a joy to watch!

But not suitable on Indian dusty potholed roads.

I liked Renault Koleos. A plus if it comes in Red.

Really appreciate Reva car which is environment friendly.

    1. Rajesh K

Reva is not only pollution-free, but it can be run using renewable sources of energy like solar power or hydro-power. They are even going to offer a portable solar panel stand under which it can be parked. For an Indian company, that’s revolutionary.

Mercedes C-Class looks really good πŸ™‚ Even I am not a fan of these luxury cars. I think a better public transportation will do a lot of good than any of these cars πŸ™‚

Sigh… a thing of beauty is a joy forever! πŸ™‚ Or so goes the saying πŸ˜›

So true. The day they invent some kind of alternate power like that, no wait, start USING power like that, we would be taking giant steps for the betterment of the planet.

    1. Rajesh K

That power is already there, but people are not putting efforts to develop it/use it because fossil fuels are there in abundance. Just wait till petrol becomes insanely expensive and diesel subsidies are taken away. Then, people will start investing to develop renewable technologies.

I agree with you in wishing that these cars should use some renewable form of energy. Or, every guy who drives this can pay a tax of 100 trees πŸ™‚

    1. Rajesh K

That’s an interesting tax. We can grow a forest very soon, looks like πŸ™‚

Somehow cars have never attracted me, and perhaps it is a female thing. However I like small cute cars! πŸ™‚ But if you ask me distinguish the models I am no good at that!

    1. Rajesh K

I too can’t tell the name/model of a car by looking at it. Since this info was displayed at the expo, I was able to name them!
